Capital Campaign
Our goal is simple: to expand our lifesaving programs with a permanent facility for the most under-served, medically complex and special needs kittens so they can get the care they deserve right here in Louisiana.
For some, that means a lifetime sanctuary.
For others, it’s the place where their second chance becomes the start of the rest of their life.
Whether it's needed for short-term rehabilitation or lifelong care, the space will serve as a calm, home-like environment suited to each kitty's needs where people can interact with kitties they wouldn't have the chance to otherwise and be able to learn about their care firsthand.
Phase I
Property Acquisition
Goal $300,000
Our first step is securing a permanent property for the facility. In our community, we estimate a suitable property can be purchased for approximately $300,000.
Phase II
Renovation & Build-Out
This phase may include renovations or complete build-outs. Once the property is acquired a budget will be estimated to reflect what’s necessary to make the space suitable for operations including zoning and permitting costs.
Phase III
Opening & Sustaining Care
The final phase is opening the building and welcoming in the lives that need us most. This includes supporting daily operations, ensuring the space remains safe and functional to serve the most vulnerable feline lines.
As Louisiana’s only dedicated rescue for special needs and specially-abled kittens, we have been a critical lifeline for cats with physical and medical challenges, giving them the care they deserve since 2021.
The kittens who come to us are not routine. Most require intensive medical care and long-term recovery support. Our one-of-a-kind foster program has paved the way for kittens with a wide range of physical and medical conditions, including paresis, paralysis, incontinence, congenital heart defects, hydrocephalus, encephalocele, epilepsy, cerebellar hypoplasia (mild to severe), blindness, deafness, limb abnormalities, traumatic brain injuries, pectus excavatum, neurological disorders, patent urachus, spinal injuries, abdominal wall defects and other congenital defects and injuries.
To expand this lifesaving work, a brick-and-mortar facility will serve as a safe haven for short- and long-term rehabilitation cases as well as a home for lifelong sanctuary residents.
